Frequently Asked Questions
Does it hurt?
Acupuncture needles are extremely fine, about the diameter of hair. Most of the time you won't feel the insertion, other times you may feel a sensation as they are inserted, something akin to a mosquito bite. Once all the needles are in though, you should not feel any discomfort.
How many sessions do I need?
This is highly dependent on the condition being addressed and the individual. Two people coming in with the exact same condition can have widely varying experiences.
Similar to taking a medication, 1 pill is not as effective as taking a medication over a period of time for the effects to be felt. Acupuncture treatments also work cumulatively over a length of time. Each treatment building upon the previous one. An average course of treatment varies between 5 to 10 sessions, usually spaced out at least 1x week for the 1st month. It'll only be after your first treatment that I can better assess how your body responds and how many sessions I'd recommend.
